Man shot in the neck in Salisbury; police searching for suspect

The Salisbury Police Department says detectives have initiated an investigation into a shooting that happened early Tuesday morning that sent a 28-year-old man to the hospital.
At around 1 AM, Salisbury Police responded to the 500 block of Emory Court where they found a man with a gunshot wound to his neck. The man was able to tell officers he was shot by an unknown suspect.
Police say the 28-year-old victim was reportedly driving a vehicle near Middleneck Drive when he was flagged down by a man. This man allegedly asked the victim for a ride, then pulled out a handgun and shot the victim in the neck. Police say the suspect then fled on foot in an unknown direction.
The victim reportedly was able to drive to the 500 block of Emory Court. From there he was transported by Salisbury EMS to Peninsula Regional Medical Center. The victim was later transferred to the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. Police say the man's injury is serious and could potentially be life threatening.
Detectives are now searching for the shooting suspect, described as a black male around 6' tall with glasses and wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt.
