Man arrested for Cambridge bank robbery

Daquon D. Robinson, 24, Cambridge, Md.

A Cambridge man was arrested and charged Friday in connection to the armed robbery of Provident State Bank on Crusader Road, police said.

Police say they responded to the bank at 1:30 PM.

Bank employees reported that a man walked up to a teller and demanded money, threatening the teller with a handgun. Witnesses gave police a detailed suspect description and alerted police to the direction the suspect fled.

A short time later, police say they found a man matching the description on a bike in the 700 block of Woods Road.

Upon stopping the subject, 24-year-old Daquon D. Robinson, police report they found a large quantity of cash in his possession. Police also say they found a handgun they believe Robinson used in the robbery near the vicinity of the bank.

Robinson was arrested and charged with armed robbery, multiple assault charges, firearms charges and more. He is being held without bond at the Dorchester County Detention Center.
