Gov. John Carney and many others pay their last respects to Lt. Steven Floyd

Gov. John Carney is joining with other mourners to pay their last respects to a Delaware corrections officer killed during a prison uprising last week.

A funeral for Lt. Steven Floyd was to begin at noon Saturday at Barratt's Chapel in Frederica.

State transportation officials advised motorists to expect delays on U.S Route 13 in Dover and Saturday morning because of visitations being held at Delaware State University.

Motorists can also expect delays Saturday afternoon on Route 1 in the Frederica area.

The 47-year-old Floyd was found dead after a hostage standoff at the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center near Smyrna. Three other DOC workers were taken hostage but survived the ordeal.
