Evolving relationship of press and politics tackled at Md. university

More often than not, there are considerable growing pains in the evolving relationship between the press and politics.
A roundtable of experts will attempt to tackle the topic Monday night at Salisbury University.
The discussion starts at 7 p.m. on the fourth floor of Guerrieri Hall.
Dr. Chrys Egan, an associate professor of communications at Salisbury University, explains the event is meant to be interactive with members of the local press.
A few topics will include how politics shape the news and vice versa. Roundtables will also explore the rise of social media and the term "fake news".
Dr. Egan says this event is open to the public and organizers urge people to attend.
"The event is sponsored by PACE — Public Affairs and Civic Engagement — which is a non partisan institute, so its whole objective to promote civil dialogue," she says. "As long as people can come and be behaved and respect other people's opinions, they are absolutely welcome."
47ABC anchor Lenita Wesson will be a part of the panel.
