Early morning crash kills Frankford man, police say

Police are investigating after an early morning crash killed a Frankford man, authorities announced Saturday

The single-vehicle crash happened around 12:30 a.m. Saturday on Parker Road.

Authroties say the driver, identified as 34-year-old Harrison McCray, was traveling southbound at an apparent high rate of speed when he approached a moderate left curve just north of Cliff Road.

In a press release sent Saturday morning, troopers say McCray's car failed to negotiate the curve and exited the west side of the road. It entered an open field and began to rotate counter-clockwise.

According to the crash report, the wheels of the car then dug into the soft soil and began to barrel roll over a distance of approximately 200 feet before coming to a stop in an upright position.

Corporal Gary Fournier of the Delaware State Police says McCray was not properly restrained and was ejected from his car.

McCray was transported to Atlantic General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing their investigation into this incident.

According to authorities, it is unknown at this time if alcohol or drugs were contributing factors in this case.

Parker Road was closed for approximately two and a half hours while the crash was investigated and cleared.
