DSP investigating a motor vehicle crash where a pedestrian was struck in Rehoboth Beach

In Rehoboth Beach, we have an update on the serious motor vehicle crash where a pedestrian was struck yesterday.

Police say at 12:03 p.m., 32-year-old Brock A. Charles was attempting to walk across the southbound lanes of Coastal Highway, just north of Shuttle Road.

According to police, Charles was not utilizing a marked crosswalk, as he stepped into the right hand lane and was struck by a 2016 Freightliner Tractor pulling a 2013 Great Dane trailer.

The driver was 58-year-old Michael Jock.

Police say Charles was admitted into a hospital with serious injuries and we are told Jock was not injured.

It is unknown if alcohol or drug use on behalf of Charles was a factor.

This crash remains under investigation by the Delaware State Police.
