Coons to meet with SCOTUS nominee

Monday marks the first anniversary of Antonin Scalia's death and one year later, his seat on the Supreme Court still remains vacant.

The Supreme Court justice died in his sleep last year at the age of 79.

President Donald Trump has nominated Judge Neil Gorsuch to fill the vacant spot; however, his confirmation has yet to take place.

Tuesday afternoon, U.S. Senator for Delaware Chris Coons is expected to meet with Judge Gorsuch.

Senator Coons is a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, and Gorsuch has submitted answers to a lengthy public questionnaire to that very committee.

In that document, Gorsuch ranked immigration law cases as the most significant in his career. Before he was a judge, Gorsuch volunteered for republican presidential campaigns.
