A call to vote for the Maryland Healthy Working Families Act

Later on Thursday, parents, families, and children will head to the Maryland State House dressed in superhero capes.

The group is calling on legislators to vote for the Maryland Healthy Working Families Act.

This act would allow full time employees to earn up to seven paid sick days a year.

Currently, more than 700,000 Maryland workers do not have the ability to earn at least one paid sick day.

Moms Rising, a grassroots organization with more than one million members nationwide is organizing the event.

The hearing will involve testimonies of experiences lacking paid sick days.
