Woman arrested for stabbing husband’s hand, destroying his vehicle

The Caroline County Sheriff's Office says deputies arrested a woman in Preston on Sunday when she allegedly stabbed her husband in the hand with a knife and smashed his vehicle with an ax.

Shortly after midnight deputies responded to the Memorial Hospital in Easton where a man was being treated for a stab wound on his hand. The man reported that his wife stabbed him at their home in Preston when an argument escalated.

The man additionally reported that his wife had destroyed his vehicle using an ax.

Police say they went to the Preston home and arrested 22-year-old Ashley Bednar, charging her with first and second degree assault, reckless endangerment and two counts of malicious destruction of property.

Bednar was ordered to be held without bond at the Caroline County Detention Center.
