Wicomico Habitat for Humanity hosting community meeting for Princess Anne victims

Habitat for Humanity of Wicomico County is constantly constructing new homes to help those in need.
But now they are stepping into Somerset County for one particular project.
They are hoping to expand the home of the guardian of the Princess Anne children who were violently attacked back in December.
Habitat for humanity is hosting a community meeting to kick off the fundraiser.
Habitat for humanity executive director, Molly Hilligoss tells 47 ABC this community meeting will go towards the Sells children.
The Sells family were victims of domestic violence, a violent attack back on December 6th, 2016.
The mother, Arielle Sells, passed away on December 12th and her two children are still hospitalized.
Now the children's permanent caretaker is Valentina Downing, who is their guardian and grandmother.
The community meeting will be its first effort to raise money to add on to Downing's home since the children are facing traumatic brain injuries.
The 4-year-old boy is paralyzed on his left side and the 8-year-old girl is recovering from a second brain surgery.
Both of these children are now in wheelchairs and the project is being designed in order to have the kids to be cared for.
The first part of the money will go towards getting the ramp built, as well adding a 10×10 handicap bathroom.
Total estimates are big bucks, looking at $45,000.
Besides adding on to the home, they are hoping to add additional help during this time of healing.
They are hoping to rally as many people to attend Thursday, February 2nd, 2017 at 6 p.m. at Antioch United Methodist Church in Princess Anne and spread the word about this fundraiser.
