Toddler dead in East New Market after being runover in a driveway

A toddler was killed Thursday afternoon in East New Market after being run over by car, according to the Dorchester County Sheriff's Office. 

Authorities said deputies and Dorchester County EMS responded to 5000 block of Cedar Grove Road around 3 PM. Upon arrival, they learned that a 19-month-old boy had been in the driveway of the residence and had been run over by a vehicle in the driveway. 

The toddler was transported to Dorchester General Hospital for treatment, but died a short time after from injuries suffered at the scene. 

According to the sheriff's office the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
