Swear-in ceremony held for Sussex County Council

New Sussex County council members were sworn-in Tuesday morning at a ceremony in Georgetown.
New members include Irwin G. Burton III of Lewes, taking his position as the new third district council member. He replaces Joan Deaver, who is retiring.
Norman A. Jones Jr. was sworn-in as the county clerk of the peace after winning that position in November's election.
Not all members were taking the oath of office for the first time, as Councilman Michael Vincent of Seaford and Councilman Samuel Wilson Jr. of Georgetown both won re-election.
Vincent was additionally re-appointed as council president, with Councilman George Cole of Ocean View selected as vice president.
The council approved J. Everett Moore Jr. to continue as county attorney, officials said.
