Salisbury University opens on campus Chick-fil-A store

Students at Salisbury University are about to eat a lot more chicken and they don't have to go far to get it.

SU officially opened their on campus Chick-fil-A restaurant, something students have apparently been asking for.

Owen Rosten, the Director of Food Services for SU, tells 47 ABC Chick-fil-A was the number one choice of students, according to an outside agency's survey and has been for the past six years.

Although this is more than just adding another food option for students on campus.

Rosten says its also providing student jobs, " This is our first step into the national brand world, of course its operated and owned by Salisbury University. It's staffed predominately by students. We have over 80 student employees at this location already."

We're told the restaurant served  500 people  within four hours of its opening and school isn't even in session until Monday.

Plus, this location will stay open longer than the other local Chick-fil-A stores, making it more convenient for students to buy food when they stay up late studying.

It will be open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. and Friday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
