Proposal sought to fund tuition at Wor-Wic Community College for Somerset County Residents

During this legislative session, Wor-Wic Community College tuition is just one of the things being discussed.

Senator Jim Mathias and Delegate Charles Otto are talking about a proposal to include funding in the state's budget, to cover tuition at the community college for Somerset County residents and students.

This bill is similar to a measure passed by the Wicomico County council last year, which covers tuition fees for residents enrolled in a degree or certificate program.

There are other requirements including a certain G-P-A and family salary.

Senator Mathias tells 47 ABC  that they are hoping the community will chime in with their comments and ideas, to let them know what's on your mind as well as participate in this legislative process.

Over the next few months Maryland legislators expect to go through 2,500 pieces of legislation, as well as working on the State's budget.
