Police: Two suspects arrested for reported armed robbery

A vehicle pursuit through Greensboro and Federalsburg has led to the arrest of two men in connection to an armed robbery Friday night, authorities announce.

Maryland State Police say 30-year-old James Moore and 35-year-old Frederick Kirsch are in custody after being arrested on outstanding warrants from Dorchester County and Caroline County, respectively.

The armed robbery happened before 10:30 p.m. Friday at a home on the 12000 block of Knife Box Road in Greensboro. Authorities say the homeowner was sleeping in his bedroom when he heard a knock at his front door.

In a press release Saturday, authorities say the homeowner answered the door to find two men who "used a ruse to gain access to the house."

One of the men reportedly pulled out a black semi-automatic pistol and asked for the homeowner's money.

47ABC is told the homeowner told the men he was having a heart attack and sat down in his living room chair.

Elena Russo, a spokesperson for the Maryland State Police, says the homeowner "tried to defend himself and pulled out his own pistol, which was subsequently taken by the suspects."

While Moore and Kirsch were allegedly inside the home, we're told the homeowner was able to dial 911 from his cell phone and left the line open during the incident before the the suspects fled with a large amount of money, pistol, and other personal belongings.

The investigator with the Caroline County Narcotics Task Force reported observing a black 2012 Ford Focus with temporary Delaware tags, travelling south on Knife Box Road at a high rate of speed and two men who fit the description of the suspects.

After a pursuit, authorities say the vehicle pulled into a driveway on the 28000 block of Bloomery Road in Federalsburg where the suspects were later arrested.

The investigation is active and ongoing.
