Police see unsecured baby in car, find drugs and firearms

Dover Police say four men were arrested on Thursday on drug and firearm charges during a traffic stop.

Shortly before noon, the Dover Police Street Crimes Unit and Delaware Probation and Parole officers reportedly saw a vehicle in motion with an infant not properly secured in a car seat.

Police say a woman passenger was holding the baby in her lap.

Officers pulled the vehicle over and report that they smelled marijuana.

The driver, 23-year-old Qadir Mosley of Dover, was in possession of crack cocaine and marijuana, police said.

Police say passenger Robert Cason, 20, of Felton, had a loaded .22 caliber revolver and a loaded .45 caliber Glock handgun in his possession. One gun was reported as stolen.

Passenger Jakell Young, 21, allegedly hid a .380 caliber handgun in the seat of the car before police approached the vehicle.

Victory Teasley, 22, had marijuana in his possession, police said.

All four were reportedly arrested without incident.

Mosley and Teasley were released on bond, while the two suspects facing more serious firearm charges have been committed to the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center, Young on a bond of $37,500 secured and Cason on $40,000 secured bond.

Police say the woman was not charged and her infant child was turned over to a family member.
