Police: One dead after vehicle drives into Sussex County retention pond

Delaware State Police say one person is dead after a vehicle drove into a retention pond in Sussex County Friday afternoon.

The accident, which happened at a pond on Bay Farm Road just west of Long Neck, is currently being investigated.

At around 3:25 PM, a blue minivan reportedly drove into the pond and became fully submerged.

Police say no other occupants were in the vehicle.
