New speed limits for two Dover area roadways

The Delaware Department of Transportation says speeds limits on Del. Route 1 between Trap Shooters Road and Puncheon Run Connector are being raised.

Drivers will now see a 60 mph speed limit in both directions, an increase from the previous limit of 55 mph.

In Dover the Puncheon Run Connector between Route 1 and U.S. Route 13 is also seeing a speed limit increase from 50 mph to 60 mph.

DelDOT says these new limits are safe and reasonable speeds for vehicles to travel on these sections of highway.

Officials say the signage change is planned for next week.
