Monday Memo – January 23, 2017

MONDAY MEMO
TO: ALL STAFF
FROM: KATHLEEN
DATE: 23 JANUARY 2017
NEWS FEATURE DRIVES WEB NUMBERS
- Emily Lampa’s special investigative series on Joe Carlini accounted for approximately 30% of all unique visitors and 12% of all page views for the three days between 17 January and the 20th. These are impressive numbers for one series to drive that type of traffic on our website. Great job by Emily and the Newsroom Team!

Last Wednesday, Lenita Wesson hosted students from Prince Street Elementary School’s CAT Club (Communications Arts and Technology). The students received a tour of the Station and watched the 12:30 Newscast. Lenita had recently visited their class to talk about the media business and they wanted to come to visit and see for themselves!
FEBRUARY SWEEPS REMINDER
- The February Sweeps period begins a week from this Thursday. For new employees, this is your reminder that “employee(s) or any member of their households may not participate in providing viewership information to Nielsen because of the possibility of conscious or unconscious bias in the reporting of their media behavior”. We take this mandate very seriously and, should you receive any viewership reporting forms, you need to return them to Nielsen with a note explaining that, as a broadcaster, you cannot participate in their survey. In advance, thanks for your attention to this requirement.
STATION FREEBIE!
- The winner of last week’s Station Freebie of the Crime Watch Daily Flashlight/Gadget was Chantel Carroll. This week’s Station Freebie is a 7-disc set of “Criminal Minds”, season 4. You can sign up for your chance to win on the bulletin board at the employee entrance. Per usual procedure, we will draw for a winner Friday morning and the announcement made in the next Monday Memo.
