Man leads police on high speed chase in Worcester and Wicomico counties

The Worcester County Sheriff's Office says a man fleeing a traffic stop led deputies on a 35 mile pursuit before crashing his car into a median on Route 50.
Glenn Allen Carmean, 47, of Salisbury, was seen by a Worcester County Sheriff's deputy on New Year's Day in the area of U.S. Route 50 and Md. Route 589.
Police say Carmean's vehicle was suspected in a hit and run in Ocean City and had fled from a Maryland State Trooper just the day before.
The deputy reportedly noticed front-end damage to the car and witnessed several traffic violations, inferring that the driver was likely intoxicated.
Police say when the deputy attempted to pull the car over, Carmean ignored the officer and sped away.
Police then pursued Carmean for around 35 miles, crossing into Wicomico County. At one point, police say Carmean attempted to ram a Worcester County deputy at speeds of around 100 mph.
Eventually Carmean crashed in the median of Route 50 and Hobbs Road in Wicomico County.
Maryland State Police, Berlin Police and the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office all assisted in Carmean's apprehension.
Carmean now faces charges of second degree assault, obstruction, failure to obey, DUI, DWI, fleeing and alluding and multiple other traffic-related charges.
He is committed at the Worcester County Jain on $30,000 bond.
