Hoverboard sale-turned-armed robbery at Days Inn in Dover

Dover Police say they arrested a man on Monday after he allegedly robbed a man at gunpoint in a Days Inn parking lot.

Around 3:30 PM, 18-year-old Jamir Brown met a 41-year-old man at the Days Inn parking lot on North DuPont Highway for a reported hoverboard sale, officials said.

Police say Brown then threatened the victim by showing him he was armed with a handgun. Brown reportedly stole the man's cellphone, cash and wallet and fled the area on foot.

The victim called police and informed them of the incident and the direction Brown fled.

Police say they found Brown at the Chatham Cove development and later found his handgun at Lake Club Apartments.

Brown is charged with first degree robbery, attempted first degree robbery, possession of a firearm during commission of a felony and carrying a concealed deadly weapon.

He was released on $70,000 unsecured bond.
