Gov. Larry Hogan announced Tuesday his appointment of Judge Paula Price to the Circuit Court of Somerset County.

"After conducting a thorough vetting process, I am confident that Judge Price is the most qualified candidate to fill the vacancy on the Circuit Court for Somerset County," Gov. Hogan said. "Judge price has an exceptional and extensive legal background and has exhibited integrity and a strong commitment to justice."

Officials say Judge Price began her legal career in 1992 at the Salisbury law firm of Adkins, Potts & Smethurst. Price then began her own firm in 1999 where she focused on civil litigation.

Price has served as a judge for the District Court of Somerset County since 2009.

She received her law degree from the University of Baltimore School of Law, originally receiving her bachelor's from Salisbury University.
