Fatal pickup truck crash leaves one dead near Pocomoke City
The Worcester County Sheriff's Office says they responded to a fatal accident Monday morning on southbound U.S. Route 113 just south of Lambertson Road.
At around 10:15 AM, a pickup truck being driven by 74-year-old James C. Drewry of Chesapeake, Va. reportedly left the highway and struck a tree and telephone pole, flipping over in the process.
Drewry was pronounced dead at the scene. Passenger Cora Drewry was sent to Peninsula Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, officials said.
The crash is still under investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed the accident or has information on the crash is encouraged to call the Worcester County Sheriff's Office at 410-632-1112.
