Easton man served summons on theft and burglary charges

Police say that a criminal summons was served in regards to an Easton theft and burglary.

According to Easton Police, on New Year's Day, officers found out that a criminal summons was served by the Talbot County Sheriff's Office Department on 22-year-old Jawaun Blake of Easton. The summons formally charged Blake with one count of fourth degree burglary, and theft under $1,000. The charges were from a report taken by the police in November that alleges that Blake stole items from the victim's home while Blake was inside. Police say whenever the victim left a room inside of his home, Blake allegedly stole merchandise and left without notice. Police applied for charges and the summons was issued for Blake.

Blake was reportedly released on the summons on his signature. Blake remained in custody and he has been returned to the Talbot County Detention Center regarding other criminal matters that the Talbot County Sheriff's Department had Blake in custody for. Blake awaits trial.
