Dover’s first homicide of the year

Wednesday afternoon, police  searched the exterior of Clearfield Apartments in Dover. This comes after shots were exchanged inside one of the apartments Tuesday night, leaving one man dead. The victim is 31 year old Javan Cale.

Dover police says Cale died in the hospital after being shot multiple times in the torso. 47 ABC was at the scene Wednesday morning and residents of the complex tell us they are still trying to wrap their heads around what happened that night.

One neighbor who declined to comment on camera, tells us she heard the gunshots. She tells us a few minutes later she saw two people dressed in dark clothing run outside of the apartments.

Police say that two unknown suspects were involved in the shooting with Cale.

47 ABC asked Dover police if they had any leads or reason to believe that this incident could be drug related. A spokesperson tells us no new information will be released at this time, but officials did say they don't believe this was a random act.
