DelDOT remind residents to be patient as their snow removal process takes time

In Delaware, officials have lifted the State of Emergency and Driving 1 Warning for Sussex County.

The State of Emergency had been in effect since 8 a.m. Saturday morning.

We're told crews had been working on primary roads and bridges in both Sussex and Kent Counties.

When we spoke to DelDOT earlier today around noon, we were told they had been plowing parts of Sussex County since dawn.

Despite fewer flakes falling throughout the day, crews from DelDot will continue working through the night, plowing snow and applying salt until Sunday.

Similar to Maryland, they are concentrating on the major roads first.

A DelDOT rep tells 47 ABC they ask for people to stay patient and stay off the road unless they have to drive.

Some of the neighborhood roads may not be plowed by Sunday morning.

We are told as many as 500 employees take part in snow removal operations.
