Delaware State Police continue to investigate a crash that left one pedestrian dead

In Seaford, police are investigating a motor vehicle crash that left one pedestrian dead.
 
Police say around 6:06 p.m. Saturday, January 29, 2017, a 73-year-old Seaford man was attempting to walk across Concord Pond Road.
 
We are told the pedestrian, was wearing all dark clothing and not carrying a light, as he entered the roadway stepping directly into the path of a car.
 
Police state the driver was 70-year-old William A. Jenkins of Seaford, as he tried to avoid hitting the pedestrian but couldn't.
 
The pedestrian was sent to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
 
We are told alcohol use on the pedestrian is being considered as a factor in the crash.
 
Jenkins was not injured neither alcohol or excessive speed is being considered as a factor in the crash.
 
This crash remains under investigation.
