Delaware roads treated in anticipation of snowfall

The Delaware Department of Transportation announced Wednesday that they are pre-treating roads across Delaware in anticipation of possible snowfall later this week.
DelDOT crews are spraying brine, a mixture of salt and water, on roadways around the state. DelDOT says crews began spraying brine this morning and will continue throughout the rest of Wednesday and Thursday.
Officials say brine can be effective up to five days after application, the salt in the mixture delaying ice and snow accumulation on roads and bridges.
DelDOT says Delaware residents can check road conditions and track snow plows on the DelDOT website or smartphone app.
