Woodbridge state championship preview

to talk some sports and spenser, we have two state titles going on tomorrow.. already previewed one of them.. who is next yeah that’s right how lucky are we that we not only have two teams looking to bring home a state championship. but both squads are undefeated, and both with a chance at making a little history woodbridge is having a magical season, and its not done just yet the blue raiders are headed to the state title game tomorrow for a matchup against wilmington friends and are one win away for the programs 1st ever state championship 47abc’s travon miles has more track 12-0 for the first time in school history. 5 shutouts and more than 400 points over the course of one season. and 24 hours away from their first ever football state title appearance..to say this has been the best season in woodbridge football history, would be an understatement. its just one of those years where you knew it would come together and we’re reaping the rewards for that. track it’s been an exciting week you know a lot of support from the community, people stopping by and wishing us well so you know, we prepare for them just like everybody else so its all over but the shouting now we just got to get out there and see what happens. so how exactly did the blue raiders get to this point? after a first round exit in the division ii playoffs a year ago and a nearly identical roster, woodbridge has relied on a tiny percentage and and old adage. do our 1/11th get our job done. we see the results in it each week with 12 wins, by doing our 1/11th. the 1/11th is basically you got 11 guys on the field, and you got everybody that has their job. doing your 1/11th is if you do your job alone, than we’ll execute on the field. track another key moment in the blue raider charge this season was the exhausting, resilient 10-7 win over former assistant eston ennis and laurel high. the blue raiders never had the lead until just over two minutes to go. the laurel game was a reality check. a game like that’s good for you you know, the great thing about it is you can say you won the game anyway, so we didn’t have to take a loss to learn a lesson. track with the greenwood and bridgeville area excited and former players acceling at the next level, now seems like the perfect time to build a blue dynasty, with the first brick being laid on saturday. i feel like its gonna bring life back into this community, especially with a state title win. its gonna feel awesome, coming back for this town this community, we never won one before, its just gonna be something to remember forever. for our community thats been our goal from the get go is to win this thing, so were gonna go out there and do our best and support our community and our fans as best we can and try to bring this thing home! track travon miles 47abc that’s it for sports – more news and weather straight ahead. stay with us. catch more of the action on our sports page at 47abc.com
