Warriors Drop Tough One To Eagles

The Easton boys basketball team suffered a tough loss in the opening round of the Governor's Challenge Tuesday afternoon when they fell to Indian Creek 52-42. The Warriors will face off against Frederick Douglas on the losers side of their bracket on Wednesday.

This game was everything it was anticipated to be and both teams were a great match up for each other. The Eagles came out the gate fast and were showing that they didn't come all that way for no reason. The Warriors have been working hard this season and they weren't about to be lay down for anybody. With some changes that Coach Hynson made the Warriors started to make some stops and were right back in the game. Led by Ryan Farr, the Warriors were looking very good and were right there with the Eagles. Easton's high pressure defense was proving to be very useful as they were making Indian Creek turn the ball over and getting them sped up. As mentioned earlier, the Eagles didn't travel all of this way for no reason. Led by a strong showing of DaVon Beckford who had a game high of 14 points, the Eagles went on to take the game. Even though the Warriors were in the game all game, they could never get over the hump and take the lead.
