Upward of 2,000 show up for Santa’s Wonderland

Plenty of people gathered in Salisbury Thursday night for the first night of Oakridge Baptist Church's annual Santa's Wonderland celebration.

47ABC was there for the packed house where more than 2,000 people showed up.

Families from all over Delmarva gathered for the community event that featured all kinds of activities for kids. Some of those activities included getting their picture taken with Santa, story time with Mrs. Claus, special Christmas movie screenings, and all the hot chocolate.

47ABC caught up with one of the event coordinators, Brandy Eby, who said that spreading cheer this time of year is very necessary. Eby went on to say, "We've been doing this for about 4 years now, and the reason for it is just to show love to our community and just welcome everyone and bring them in and just open the doors so everyone can enjoy a magical experience."

The event is free and it will be held again Friday night from 5 until 8PM, and again on Saturday from 3 to 7PM.
