Breaking early Thursday morning, a Queen Anne's County Sheriff's Deputy is fighting for his life after being shot while responding to a domestic dispute.
The incident reportedly began around 9:30 PM Wednesday night when officers responded to a home on Edmore Road for a domestic disturbance. The woman involved in this incident later went to the Sheriff's Headquarters.
Shortly after midnight, the female was reportedly escorted back to the home to get clothing. That's when the suspect inside the home reportedly fired at Deputy First Class Warren Scott Hogan, who then returned fire. Both were reportedly hit.
Hogan, who is a four-year veteran of the Queen Anne's County Sheriff's Office, was reportedly flown to Shock Trauma for surgery. Latest reports say, he is out of surgery and remains in critical condition. No information is available on the condition of the suspect at this time.
Officials with Maryland State Police and Queen Anne's County Sheriff's Office plan to release more details about the incident later Thursday morning. MSP Homicide Unit is leading this investigation.
