Dover Police are looking for a man who they say was stealing credit card information in order to illegally purchase gift cards.
The Sears store in Dover notified police that one of their employees, 22-year-old Jonathan Williams, was illegally purchasing gift cards with credit card information from unknown victims. Police say Williams, who was also employed at the Dover Best Buy, gained access to credit card and personal information from people around the country.
In their investigation on Williams, police were able to obtain a search warrant for a residence at Country Village Apartments. Police found multiple skimming devices, credit card embossing devices and various blank credit cards that were being used to duplicate credit cards to make fraudulent purchases.
Raheem Williams, 23, and William Smalls Jr., 22, were arrested, but Dover Police are still searching for Jonathan Williams.
During the search police also found marijuana intended for resale.
Dover Police now urge the public to watch their bank accounts and credit card statements for suspicious activity. Anyone who shopped at the Dover locations of Sears or Best Buy is particularly at risk.
Police continue their investigation and encourage anyone with tips or information to call the Dover Police Department at 302-736-7130 or Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIO-3333. Tips can also be submitted online or through the Dover Police MyPD Mobile app.
