Update: Suspect arrested for Princess Anne murder

Police have arrested a man in connection to a shooting death overnight Saturday.
According to Maryland State Police, 26-year-old Jesse Copes of Princess Anne has been arrested for the murder of 26-year-old Tawanda Blake of Pocomoke City.
According to Maryland State Police, troopers received a 911 call for a shooting just before 1:30 a.m. at the American Legion in the 31000 block of Perryhawkin Road in Princess Anne. Troopers reportedly found Blake lying in the parking lot.
We're told she was taken to Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, where she was pronounced dead shortly after 2 a.m.
An initial investigation by investigators with Maryland State Police has indicated Blake was one of a number of people in the parking lot when several shots were fired. Authorities say Blake was the only person struck by the gunfire; however, it is unclear whether she was the intended target.
Copes has been charged with first degree murder, second degree murder, manslaughter, first degree assault, second degree assault, reckless endangerment, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm.
He is currently being held at the Somerset County Detention Center without bond.State Police at the Princess Anne Barrack immediately at 443-260-3700. Callers may remain confidential.
