UPDATE: New details released in Houston fatal crash

In Kent County, Delaware troopers have identified the victim in a fatal truck crash in Houston Thursday that claimed the life of a Harrington man.
According to Delaware State Police, around 5:45 PM, 20-year-old Samuel R. Ellers 3rd was driving a pickup truck westbound on Williamsville Road approaching Hunting Quarter Road. As Ellers was entering a curve he reportedly lost control and traveled off the south side of the roadway into a small ditch where he hit a culvert, propelling the truck airborne into a mailbox. The vehicle then reportedly hit a tree with its left side driver's door and continued a short distance before striking another tree with its driver's side door. Trooper say, the pick up re-entered the roadway and continued westbound where it came to a stop in a ditch on the south edge of the roadway facing in a northwesterly direction.
Ellers, who was properly restrained and the sole occupant of the truck, was reportedly pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers believe speed may have been a contributing factor in this case, and they will be continuing their investigation into this incident.
Williamsville Road at Hunting Quarter Road was closed for about three hours while the crash was investigated and cleared.
