UPDATE: Human remains found in Fruitland, MSP Confirm

Maryland State Police confirm they have found human remains in Fruitland.

Officials say Fruitland Police received a call about a possible burial site behind a home off Center Street. Maryland State Police arrived on the scene and started what they are calling an "excavation." They say they did find what they believed was decomposing human remains wrapped up in a blanket. Around 2:30PM they confirmed it was humane remains.

Officials say the next step is to try and identify the remains. They will be doing a search through the missing persons database to see if it could be anyone on it.
