UPDATE: DSP continues to investigate fatal hit and run in Georgetown

The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit says it is still investigating a serious hit and run pedestrian crash that claimed the life of a Georgetown woman.

The incident happened on November 16 around 6AM, as Isabel Velasquez-Perez, 56 of Georgetown was hit by a black car along Oak Street in the area of Garden Circle within the County Seat Garden Mobile Home Development.

According to the original release, troopers responded to Oak Street for a report of a woman lying on the side of the road. When troopers and Emergency Medical Services arrival, Velasquez-Perez was treated on scene by paramedics and then airlifted to Beebe Healthcare where she was listed in critical condition. She has since succumbed to her injuries.
