Stephen Decatur High School puts on 40th annual stage production

Stephen Decatur High School puts on an annual stage production that's geared specifically for elementary school students, as it marks its 40th year.

In its 40th year of production, over 9,000 students come from all over ranging from Worcester, Wicomico, and Accomack county.

This year's theme is Fantastic Mr. Fox and they perform about 20 shows.

The director of the play, Brandon Cater, actually grew up watching this tradition and it inspired him to follow the path of acting.

Cater says this year they changed some things up by adding more modern day children theatre with the idea of puppetry.

The director tells 47 ABC its amazing to see this program continue and to be apart of it and says every year is a super special year. He states he's glad that this community continues to enjoy it and that they're able to continue to provide the opportunity and service.

The shows are December 9th and 10th, 2016 starting at 7 p.m.

Anyone wanting to attend the shows, it will cost $10 for adults and $5 for students.
