Police in Ellendale say they have arrested six wanted individuals in connection to a theft from a construction site last month.

According to reports, on Thursday around 10:00 AM officers were called to a home on North Old State Road to follow up on a lead that the generator being used on the property was possibly stolen.

Police say once they got to the home four people started fleeing on foot.

One suspect, 23-year-old Jervontae Smack, was arrested at the scene.

Other police departments later responded and after a search of the wooded area behind the home three other suspects, 22-year-old Tywon Williams, 29-year-old Joshua Wright and 23-year-old Dontrelle Shields, were found and arrested.

Police also say 49-year-old Rebecca Davis and 32-year-old Jason Smith were taken into custody when they drove up to the home during the investigation and it was found that they were both wanted as well.

As a result of this investigation, a construction generator was recovered that had reportedly been stolen from a Sussex County Habitat for Humanities Construction trailer in the Ingram Village Development of Ellendale back in November.

All have been charged with a number of offenses totaling 24 among the six.
