Short-handed Sabres struggle against Cesar Chavez

The Saints Peter and Paul boys basketball team battled despite being short handed, but ultimately came up short against Cesar Chavez 85-36. The Sabres fall to 0-2 in tournament play.

The teams would be in a battle throughout the first quarter. Tyrese Purnell would be able to get to the rim a couple times to get a few easy scores for the Sabres. Saints Peter & Paul was only able to suit 5 players for the game, and with one being late, they dress their team manager to being the game. Despite that, they were still able to hang in the game trailing just 21-18 after the first. Lamont Powell continued their strong play early, giving them some scoring from the outside. But eventually the Eagles would pull away. Keleaf Tate would have a monster game, shooting 15-22 from the field on his way to finishing with a game-high 34 points. Jacob Long would also fill up the stat sheet, finishing with 12 points, 13 reboubds, 10 assists, and 7 steals.
