Seahawks shine and soar over Crusaders

The Stephen Decatur boys basketball team kept their perfect start to the season alive with a commanding win over Bishop Sullivan 68-53 in a showcase game of the Governor's Challenge. The Seahawks return to action on Thursday when they play Potomac.
The Seahawks had a tough match up against Bishop Sullivan and they felt as if they had a point to prove and needed to let everyone know that they are the real deal. Early in the game it was neck and neck and both sides were playing good basketball. Stephen Decatur had scorers at every position, but as did Bishop Sullivan. Kevon Voyles and Gary Briddel were having a nice night for the Seahawks as they were controlling the floor and doing everything their coach asked of them. It seemed as if for every run that the Seahawks went on, Bishop Sullivan followed it up with a run of their own and were right there in the game. There's one person that Stephen Decatur has that Bishop Sullivan does not and that is a man by the name of Keve Aluma. Aluma was the story of the night as he finished the game with 25 points and 11 rebounds. The Seahawks would just spread the floor and let the big man go to work and he couldn't be stopped. The Seahawks got the lead and although the Crusaders came close in the end, they never could get the lead. Stephen Decatur made a statement win and let everyone know they can play with the best of them.
