Seaford PD trying to identify attempted armed robbery suspect

The Seaford Police Department says it is investigating an attempted armed robbery that happened at the Family Dollar Store on Stein Highway.
According to the report, on Wednesday around 6:30PM, City of Seaford Police Officers responded to the Family Dollar Store for a report of an attempted armed robbery. When officers arrived, they found out that a man had come into the store and showed a silver handgun while demanding money. The store employee told police that he ran to the store office and locked himself inside, while the suspect then left the property. No injuries were reported in this incident.
The suspect is described by officials as a man, 5’10 in height, 140 pounds, last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a white tee shirt, and a black bandanna with white on it.
The Seaford Police Department is asking that anyone with information about the incident contact the Criminal Investigation Division at 302-629-6648. The Seaford Police Department in conjunction with Delaware Crime Stoppers (800-TIP-3333) is offering a reward for information leading the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in this incident.
