Salisbury man arrested for breaking into ex-girlfriend’s home

James L. Brumskin, 26, Salisbury, Md.

The Wicomico County Sheriff's Office says they arrested a man on Thursday for reportedly burglarizing his ex-girlfriend's home, assaulting her and carrying marijuana with intention to distribute.

Police responded to 900 block of Booth Street on a burglary call shortly after 10:40 AM. Police found James Brumskin, 26, walking along the street with a gym bag.

The responding deputy reported Brumskin broke open the door to his estranged girlfriend's home and assaulted her.

When the deputy asked to search Brumskin's gym bag, Brumskin reportedly told the officer that there was a small amount of legal marijuana within it.

Rather than a small amount, the deputy found 200 grams of marijuana held in different containers, as well as empty baggies and digital scales, according to police.

Brumskin was arrested and charged with third and fourth degree burglary, second degree assault, destruction of property and possession of marijuana over 10 grams with intent to distribute. He is being held on $25,000 bond.
