Police investigating Felton attempted robbery

Police say that they are investigating an attempted robbery that happened in Felton early Thursday morning.

According to Delaware State Police, around 4:19AM Thursday morning, a man entered Canterbury Shore Stop on South DuPont Highway and approached the counter armed with an unknown type of handgun. Police say a male customer with two employees were near the counter area when the suspect demanded the customer to the floor.

The customer reportedly refused and when the suspect tried to gain access behind the counter, the customer reportedly blocked the entryway causing the suspect to leave the business in an unknown direction without any merchandise or money. Police say the employees and the customer were not injured in the incident.

The suspect was described as being 5’10”-5’11” tall, 150-180 lbs., wearing a dark colored sweatshirt and grey/white colored pants. Police say no further physical or clothing description is available. The suspect was reportedly armed with an unknown type of handgun.
