Police say that they are investigating an armed robbery that happened Tuesday morning in Salisbury.

According to Salisbury Police on Tuesday morning around 2AM, officers responded to La Quinta Inn and Suites in Salisbury for a report of a robbery. When they arrived, a hotel employee reportedly said that a suspect went into the hotel and demanded money.

Further investigation reportedly found that when the suspect went into the hotel, he immediately made a distinct motion that led the employee to believe that he had a weapon, although no weapon was ever shown. Police say the suspect then verbally demanded money from the hotel employee. The employee reportedly gave the suspect an undisclosed amount  of money, and the suspect then fled the hotel on foot. Officers were reportedly assisted by Salisbury Police Department’s K-9 “Hank” who made a track in search of the suspect but the track was reportedly not successful.

Police say that there were no injuries reported as a result of the incident.

Detectives were reportedly able to review the hotel surveillance footage, along with the surveillance footage from surrounding businesses where they could obtain the photos. The suspect is described as having a thin build, approximately 5′-10″, weighing approximately 140 pounds, approximately 35-45 years of age,    wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt pulled over his head and black or dark colored pants.

Police say that the investigation is ongoing and anyone with information should call the Salisbury Police Department Criminal Investigation Division (410) 548-3113 or Crime Solvers (410) 548-1776.
