Police: 1 dead, 1 injured following Baker Street shooting

Authorities have confirmed one person is dead and another is injured after a shooting late Monday night.

According to the Salisbury Police Department, the shooting happened around 10:30 p.m. near the 700 block of Baker Street. 

47ABC has learned the deceased victim is identified as 31-year-old James Edward Joyce of Salisbury.

Captain Rich Kaiser of the Salisbury Police Department says the second victim, 56-year-old Hilda Barkley, was critically injured as a result but was last reported in stable condition.

No suspects have been identified as of 11:45 p.m. Monday.

We're told the homicide unit of the Maryland State Police has been notified. Captain Kaiser tells 47ABC Maryland State Police is the leading agency in the investigation. Salisbury Police will assist.
