Parkside drops tough one to MIlford Mill

The Parkside boys basketball team dropped a tough matchup to open the Governor's Challenge Tuesday afternoon when they fell to Milford Mill 64-58. The Rams move on to the loser side of the bracket to face off against Delmar Wednesday.

This game was definitely one to see as it was a great match up across the board for both teams. This game was a good game for Parkside to feel out where they stand and they didn't back down. Ugo Obasi for Milford MIll was having a great game and doing a nice job leading the Millers to an early lead over the Rams. Paul Morgan wasn't going to let his team go down easily as he led the Rams to a run of their own to get back in the game. Everyone knows that basketball is a game of runs, and the Millers followed the Rams run with a run of their own and were right back in the lead. Now it was late in the game and it was Raequan Williams turn as he was getting steals and finishing at the rim for the Rams. Late in the game, The Rams were down by ten points, but they were right in the game. With some big steals from defensive pressure, they were down by four points with 20 seconds to go. The Millers inbounded the ball, but the Rams let too much time run off the clock before fouling and they only had 10 seconds to go. After Jamal McDermott made both free throws the Rams were down by six with 10 still on the clock. The Rams couldn't come back from this deficit and ended up dropping a tough one.
