Operation Teddy Bear kicks off holiday season for Perdue

Several Perdue trucks sported extra Christmas flair on Saturday morning.

25 trucks decorated for Operation Teddy Bear traveled from Snow Hill Road through the Salisbury Bypass.

Inside of the trucks were residents of the Holly Center.

This is the 33rd year Perdue has hosted the December event, but it wasn’t just the truck drivers and center residents along for the ride.

George Coffin, a driver advocate for Perdue, says volunteers from local schools also took part in the tradition.

“They help load the clients, make sure they’re loading safely and unloaded safely,” says Coffin. “It kind of kicks everybody’s holiday season just a good start to the season.”

About 50 residents from the Holly Center took part in Operation Teddy Bear on Saturday.
