Occupants displaced after fire in Salisbury

Officials say that occupants of a home were displaced after a fire in Salisbury.
According to the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office, on Wednesday night around 11:21 PM, a fire caused by an accidental electrical wiring failure took place on Princeton Avenue at a two story single family home. Officials say that there were no injuries or deaths.
The damage of the fire cost $40,000 in structure loss and $10,000 in contents.
Officials also say that Salisbury Fire Department was the responding agency, and that the fire took about 45 minutes to control. The fire was reportedly noticed by an occupant of the home, and it started at a void space between the ceiling and second floor.
The smoke alarm was present and activated, but it is not known whether or not the sprinkler worked.
Officials say that as a result of the fire, the occupants were displaced and are being assisted by the Red Cross.
