North Caroline gets blitzed by Oakdale

The North Caroline boys basketball team ran into a buzz-saw Wednesday night in day two of the Governor's Challenge when they fell to Oakdale 79-38. The loss drops the Bulldogs to 1-1 in tournament play.

For the first quarter, it felt like either team would have a chance to pull out the win. David Bailey Jr. was able to connect on a couple baskets for the Bulldogs as they found themselves down just 17-11. But the Bears seized control of the game in the second quarter. Oakdale would out-score North Caroline 20-2 to build a 37-13 lead headed into the locker rooms. The Bulldogs finally got back to their offense in the second half as Joey Adams was able to register a couple buckets. Adams and Bailey would combine for 33 of the Bulldogs 38 points though as Oakdale was able to completely shut down North Caroline's supporting cast in rout to the win.
